Where We Meet

about

Where We Meet represents friendship, hope and a steadfast creative spirit through unusual times, finding its natural home here in our Lifelines series. Dominik Grenzler (CH) and Stijn Hüwels (BE) traded a planned performance for this remote exchange, recorded between Zurich and Leuven during lockdown, gifting us all with a much needed half-hour escape into soft realms of ease and respite. Listeners will be familiar with Stijn from his extensive work with Home Normal and Dauw, and with Dominik from his EndTitles label and releases as An Moku. Here, on the duo’s first collaboration together, carefully weighted melodic gestures and micro-textured sound design merge effortlessly with longform, widescreen ambient drone, resulting in a dreamy and beautifully judged display of integrity and restraint.

Slowcraft digital series Lifelines is curated by label founder James Murray, presenting vital and consoling works from world class genre-defying artists, each carefully mastered by Ian Hawgood and individually paired with bespoke artwork by printmaker June Murray.

Lifelines. Hold tight.

"Where We Meet is a magnificent exploration of texture and tone, often approaching the spiritual, the angelic, and the divine."
